About the position

Palmetto Summerville Behavioral Health is seeking a dynamic and talented Director of Quality & Risk Management. This position is crucial for ensuring regulatory compliance with standards set by CMS, The Joint Commission, and DHEC. The Director will be responsible for the development and coordination of policies and procedures that enhance hospital services, improve processes, and elevate quality and customer satisfaction in a cost-effective manner. The role also includes serving as the Facility Privacy Officer and aligning the quality program with UHS corporate policies and best practices. The Director will oversee a comprehensive behavioral health facility that treats children and adolescents, addressing a wide spectrum of psychiatric issues, addictive behaviors, and chemical dependency-related illnesses. This position requires a strong understanding of healthcare services, mental health, and clinical delivery systems, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and manage stress effectively. The Director will play a key role in fostering a challenging and rewarding work environment, ensuring that the facility meets its operational goals while adhering to regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure regulatory compliance with CMS, The Joint Commission, and DHEC standards.
• Develop and coordinate policies and procedures to improve hospital services.
• Enhance process quality and customer satisfaction in a cost-effective manner.
• Serve as the Facility Privacy Officer.
• Coordinate the quality program with UHS corporate policies and best practices.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in a related behavioral health field.
• Three years of management experience preferred, with experience in risk management.
• CPI Certification training required.
• Knowledge of healthcare services, mental health, and clinical delivery systems.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Flexibility, creativity, and stress management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
