About the position

The Director of Safety and Risk Management at Prima Express, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the organization's safety policies, procedures, and initiatives. This role ensures a safe working environment, compliance with safety regulations, and effective risk management strategies. The Director will lead a team, conduct risk assessments, and implement training programs to promote a proactive safety culture within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of safety training programs for all employees.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other regulatory standards.
  • Lead investigations into accidents or incidents and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Supervise and lead the safety team, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Create and maintain emergency response plans for various incidents.
  • Collaborate with department heads, external agencies, and insurance representatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 4-5 years of experience in safety management, preferably in a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Analytical skills for risk assessment.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, OSHA) preferred.
  • Certified Safety Professional (Preferred)
  • OSHA 30 (Preferred)
