About the position

The Director of Safety at Ascend Wireless Networks is responsible for enforcing safety practices and policies, coordinating safety training, and ensuring compliance across various locations. This role supports the company's growth by managing health and safety programs, participating in leadership discussions, and developing safety initiatives that align with OSHA and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Enforce safety practices and policies across all verticals and states.
• Coordinate and conduct safety training for staff.
• Manage health and safety programs to support business success and growth.
• Develop and maintain department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Provide leadership for short- and long-range planning for safety initiatives.
• Develop, maintain, and implement workplace safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA and state standards.
• Manage employee safety certifications and compliance databases.
• Create and manage a safety training program across multiple lines of business.
• Oversee safety operations and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Conduct safety audits and physically inspect work areas and equipment.
• Prepare monthly or annual safety reports for management.
• Manage the inventory of safety-related materials and the ASCEND fleet for DOT compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in safety management, environmental safety, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of construction safety experience preferred.
• Certificate in occupational health and safety management.
• Excellent knowledge of OSHA standards and federal safety legislation.
• Solid knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices in the workplace.
• Familiarity with writing health and safety policies and procedures.
• Proficiency in conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage programs and projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively.
• Ability to organize work, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated supervisory ability.
