About the position

The Director of Sales for Amazon Mobile Experience at Samsung is a pivotal role responsible for driving the commercialization of Samsung's mobile devices, including phones, tablets, and wearable technology, specifically through the Amazon platform. This position is based in either Bellevue, Washington, or Plano, Texas, and requires a firm in-office presence from Monday to Thursday. The role reports directly to the General Manager of All Lines of Business and involves a travel requirement of approximately 15% to either location as needed. In this role, the Director will be tasked with developing leadership plans and strategies that enhance Samsung's growth and market share, particularly focusing on the critical 'last three feet' of consumer experience where sell-through is essential. The Director will partner with various customer channels to gather vital Voice of the Customer (VOC) insights that will inform Samsung's product offerings and go-to-market strategies. Collaboration with marketing, category sales, product development, and operations teams will be crucial to meet the sales objectives set by the company. The Director will lead a Channel Sales team, ensuring that the best and most profitable product sales opportunities are identified and pursued in the North American marketplace. This includes optimizing financial resources and incentives to maximize revenue and achieve profitable results. Building and maintaining strong relationships with customer leadership will be essential for pursuing new business opportunities and increasing market share. Additionally, the Director will be responsible for recruiting, motivating, developing, and retaining a high-performing sales team, instilling a culture of accountability, empowerment, and performance-based management. Leveraging market and internal analytics to develop a robust go-to-market strategy will also be a key responsibility, ensuring alignment with Samsung's overall objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Drive growth and market share for Samsung by developing leadership plans and strategies that drive results at the 'last three feet' of consumer experience.
  • Partner with customer channels to funnel critical Voice of the Customer (VOC) inputs related to Samsung products and go-to-market strategy and execution.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Category Sales, Product Development, and Operations to achieve the sales objectives identified by the company.
  • Lead Channel Sales team to achieve the best and most profitable product sales opportunities in the North American market place.
  • Ensure financial resources and incentives are used to optimize increased revenue, maximize sell through, and achieve profitable results.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customer leadership to pursue new profitable business opportunities and product developments and to increase market share.
  • Spearhead the recruitment, motivation, development and retention of professionals who can deliver sustained (profitable) revenue growth.
  • Instill a culture of accountability and empowerment, performance-based management, teamwork and other best practices to achieve the goals of the organization.
  • Leverage market and internal analytics to develop a go-to-market strategy in support of Samsung objectives, including account and product line specific programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred.
  • At least 12+ years of relatable experience in sales within a related industry (Electronics, CPG, Food & Beverage, etc.).
  • Experience managing national retail sales accounts, preferably Amazon.
  • Experience managing a sales team (this role will lead a team of 4 to 6 members).
  • Demonstrated skills as a change agent, leader, and performance coach to develop talent.
  • Strong business acumen, superior analytical skills, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights and initiatives to drive top/bottom line growth.
  • Proven ability to successfully develop and own a customer relationship and strong track record of building collaborative internal/external relationships.
  • Excellent negotiator and influencer, leveraging business analytics & insights to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, flexible and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, highly organized with the ability to manage timelines and objectives effectively.
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills with strong presentation and facilitation abilities required.
  • Advanced Excel skills required (pivot tables, V-look ups, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of consumer sales/marketing principles.
  • Experience in supporting and facilitating cross-departmental interdependencies.
