About the position

The Director of Sales and Marketing for the Fairfield Inn & Suites Cumberland is responsible for overall account management, business generation, and sales prospecting. This role involves leading the sales team, developing and managing sales budgets, and ensuring the hotel meets or exceeds revenue goals. The position requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and the ability to cultivate relationships within the community and industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and communicate the vision of Plamondon Hospitality Partners' properties.
  • Model and implement the corporate mission, 'The Values You Respect'.
  • Develop the sales team through ongoing training and support.
  • Prepare annual revenue budget and manage sales budget.
  • Generate top-line revenue to meet or exceed budget goals.
  • Cultivate leads through various sales strategies including cold calls and networking.
  • Review month-end reports and provide critiques for improvement.
  • Create and produce quarterly sales action plans and SMART goals.
  • Conduct weekly sales meetings with the sales team and General Manager.
  • Maintain rapport with competitor hotels and local community.

Requirements

  • Marriott select service and extended stay experience preferred.
  • Related college degree or equivalent sales experience required.
  • Direct sales and sales management experience of at least 2 to 3 years.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to perform the physical aspects of the job including lifting and carrying up to 60 lbs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in hotel operations and community relations.
  • Understanding of revenue generation and profit/loss implications.
