About the position

The Director of Sales and Marketing will lead the sales and marketing efforts of a rapidly growing company in the housewares industry, based in Cincinnati, OH. This role involves managing key customer relationships, driving sales growth initiatives, and ensuring customer satisfaction while collaborating closely with senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage key customer relationships with a deep understanding of their business needs.
  • Determine and pursue new key accounts and markets including e-commerce platforms.
  • Keen awareness of market trends and envision future trajectories.
  • Identify and aid in development of new products in existing markets.
  • Identify and aid in development of new markets.
  • Partner with senior management in defining and developing strategic growth plans.
  • Detail oriented market research collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Create customer-centric planogram and promotional programs.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturer's Representatives in account management.
  • Effectively communicate customer objectives and strategies for product development and sourcing.
  • Provide accurate and detailed sales forecasting.
  • Work with team to develop annual budgets with an understanding of financial accounting.
  • Aid in development of annual product and account specific pricing.
  • Identify and evaluate competitive growth strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5-10 years of Housewares and/or Home Decor wholesale sales experience.
  • 5-10 years of sales/marketing experience in consumer goods with an emphasis in Housewares and/or Home Decor.
  • A proven ability to create customer specific programs.
  • Thorough understanding of international sourcing and supply chain with experience selling direct import programs.
  • Experience developing and implementing private label programs.
  • Proven experience analyzing retail business.
  • Passion for sales and proven ability of building from the ground up.
  • Entrepreneurial and optimistic attitude to develop creative sales solutions with cross-functional team.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel 25%+ of time for customer meetings, trade shows, and occasional international trips.
