The Director will work closely with the Director of Revenue Management to create and implement effective sales strategies, manage the mix of business, and optimize pricing strategies to enhance profitability. In this role, the Director will leverage both internal and external resources to formulate strategic plans that encompass all business segments. A deep understanding of sales and business processes is essential, as the Director will support corporate and hotel objectives while enhancing customer value. The position requires identifying customer business needs and crafting tailored offers that drive increased revenue share for the hotel. Monitoring the sales team's performance against established objectives is crucial, and the Director will take corrective actions as necessary to meet the annual marketing plan goals. The Director will maintain relationships with key accounts to boost customer satisfaction and revenue, utilizing professional sales techniques to negotiate favorable terms that meet both customer and hotel requirements. Additionally, the Director will prepare and maintain a comprehensive annual marketing plan with specific, measurable initiatives aimed at sustaining and growing each business segment. Leadership responsibilities include modeling effective selling techniques, developing team members, and committing to personal and industry development. The role also involves interviewing, selecting, training, and coaching associates to ensure adherence to brand standards and HHM core values. Local travel is required to promote the hotel and assess competition, all while adhering to sustainability practices outlined in HHM's EarthView program.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales and marketing plans against a defined hotel budget to maximize revenues.
  • Manage the hotel's e-commerce presence and social media opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Revenue Management to implement sales strategies and pricing strategies.
  • Utilize internal and external data to create strategic plans for all business segments.
  • Identify customer business requirements and craft offers to increase revenue share.
  • Monitor sales team objectives and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Achieve annual hotel revenue goals as established in the budget.
  • Maintain relationships with key accounts to enhance customer satisfaction and revenue.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions that satisfy customer requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain an annual marketing plan with measurable initiatives.
  • Model proper selling techniques and develop team members.
  • Interview, select, train, and coach associates to meet brand standards.
  • Travel locally to promote the hotel and review competition.
  • Follow sustainability guidelines related to HHM's EarthView program.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree required; advanced degree coursework in business administration, marketing, or communications is a plus.
  • Previous sales experience in a comparable hotel size and scope is required; operations experience preferred.
  • Public relations and community marketing experience is required.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Delphi, and access database tools.
