About the position

The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing sales and marketing strategies to maximize revenue, increase occupancy rates, and enhance the overall brand presence of the hotel. This individual manages the sales team and plays a crucial role in achieving the hotel's financial and business objectives. This position requires a strong understanding of the hospitality industry, market trends, and effective promotional tactics. In this role, you will develop and execute a comprehensive sales plan that targets various market segments and accounts for group, corporate, and leisure business. You will lead the sales team in identifying new business opportunities, maintaining existing client relationships, and achieving revenue targets. Additionally, you will manage the hotel's online presence, including the website, social media channels, and online travel agencies. Analyzing market trends and guest feedback will be essential to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation. You will work closely with revenue management teams to optimize pricing strategies and maximize revenue per available room (RevPAR). Implementing effective yield management practices to balance occupancy and rates will be a key responsibility. Monitoring and analyzing competitive set pricing and adjusting strategies as needed will also be part of your duties. Building strong relationships with key clients, industry partners, and stakeholders is crucial. You will attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network and stay updated on industry trends. Furthermore, you will develop and manage the sales and marketing budget, allocating resources effectively and conducting regular financial analysis to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and strategies. As a leader, you will recruit, train, and lead a high-performing sales and marketing team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance evaluations to team members. Fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment that encourages creativity and innovation is essential for success in this role. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in hotel sales and marketing, with a track record of achieving revenue goals.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in using hotel management systems, sales software, and marketing analytics tools. Experience with Lightspeed is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of the local and regional hospitality market.
