About the position

The Director of Sales will play a pivotal role in maintaining and expanding the global market share of our client's specialty capital equipment, which is sold through indirect sales channels. This position requires a dynamic leader who can develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy tailored to a niche industry marketplace. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and nurturing relationships with both new and existing partners, ensuring that the company remains competitive and responsive to market demands. In this role, the Director of Sales will conduct thorough competitive analyses of the market, guiding necessary changes to the sales approach and product offerings. The individual will be tasked with building business through direct equipment sales as well as aftermarket offerings, solidifying relationships with existing OEM partners and other sales channels. Collaboration with internal and external customers is essential to provide best-in-class products and services, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty. This position is not only about driving sales but also about fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within the sales team. The Director will be expected to lead by example, demonstrating a high level of technical aptitude and a commitment to solution-based, value-add sales. The role will also involve significant travel, with expectations of up to 40% travel, including international trips, to meet with partners and customers.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 10+ years of sales experience in capital equipment or industrial markets (preferably in the electro-mechanical space)
  • Ability to work with internal and external customers to provide excellent customer service
  • Experience selling through indirect sales channels and distribution network
  • Very high level of technical aptitude
  • 4-year degree required (technical or engineering degree preferred)
  • Background in solution, value-add sales
  • Ability to travel upwards of 40% (International travel required)
  • Basic computer knowledge (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
