About the position
The Insights & Strategy team is a critical component of Harbor Distribution and seeks to uncover and communicate unexpected shifts in the way we understand the asset management industry, business, and our clients. Our team is responsible for partnering with Distribution leaders to design, develop and communicate actionable insights aligned to the strategic and tactical objectives of the organization. We are seeking an individual who is a critical thinker and can breakdown complex problems and derive data-driven solutions across internal and external datasets. The Director of Sales Insights will partner across the organization to enhance our capabilities around the competitive landscape, client experience and product opportunities. This position will report to the Head of Distribution Insights & Strategy.
Responsibilities
- Uncover tactical and strategic approaches to large opportunities based on Harbor's product set using various data sets.
- Utilize SQL, Tableau, and other analytical tools to maintain and improve the reporting structure monthly.
- Own end-to-end project management of data and reporting requests.
- Drive insights for business development and guide sales and marketing teams around the use of data insights.
- Effectively communicate findings and results to various stakeholders including senior leadership across marketing and sales.
- Design, develop, and implement intuitive dashboards for easy consumption by business stakeholders.
Requirements
- 7+ years' prior work experience in data, analytics, business management.
- Experience in the financial services industry preferred, with a focus on banking, capital markets, or insurance; asset management experience is a plus.
- Expert at SQL and Excel for querying and manipulating data for analysis and visualization.
- Proven investment experience and a strong understanding of portfolio management and the investment landscape.
- Proven track record of turning data into actionable insights to support executive decision-making.
- Demonstrated success working with data discovery, analytics, visualization, and business intelligence tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present complex information in an easy-to-understand manner.
