About the position

The position involves a significant focus on sales within the hospitality industry, requiring the individual to spend over 50% of their workweek away from the office to prospect new sales leads and maintain relationships with key clients. The role emphasizes direct sales efforts during prime selling hours and includes responsibilities such as negotiating contracts, managing sales presentations, and achieving budgeted revenue goals.

Responsibilities

  • Spend more than 50% of workday/week away from the office prospecting new sales leads.
  • Identify and seek out potential business in the local market.
  • Maintain relationships with local companies and key people to increase the hotel's visibility.
  • Focus on direct sales efforts during prime selling time (10a - 3p).
  • Create and manage sales solicitations and presentations specific to assigned properties/brands.
  • Negotiate all aspects of the sales contract to leverage profitability while achieving client expectations.
  • Maintain positive STAR report numbers in areas of occupancy, average daily rate, and Revpar.
  • Assist in the development of property budgets and forecasts, and operate within them.
  • Develop and maintain market awareness to predict revenue opportunities and set proactive sales strategies.
  • Achieve budgeted revenue goals consistently by utilizing training, tools, and procedures provided.
  • Consistently call on potential customers; making in-person visits a minimum of three (3) days per week.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of hospitality sales and/or management experience.
  • Ability to organize multiple projects and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Experience at properties of similar size and quality.
