About the position

Driftwood Hospitality Management is seeking a Director of Sales & Marketing for the all new Canopy by Hilton Louisville Downtown, which is set to open in the fourth quarter of 2024. This position requires a dynamic Sales Leader with boutique/lifestyle experience who is eager to embrace and represent the community and culture of Louisville, KY. The hotel, featuring 168 rooms, is strategically located just minutes from Whiskey Row and the KFC Yum Center Arena, making it an ideal venue for both leisure and business travelers. The property will also boast a steakhouse, a rooftop pool, and over 5000 square feet of meeting space, providing ample opportunities for events and gatherings. The Director of Sales will have direct oversight of the hotel's sales operations, with a primary responsibility to maximize profit and expand business relationships with targeted prospects and large clients. This role involves developing and implementing strategies, sales plans, budgets, and forecasts for overall business development, as well as overseeing group and transient sales. The Director will manage all aspects of the sales division, providing a strategic vision for maximum hotel sales generation and optimal revenue growth. Leading a talented sales team, the Director will create an energized environment where professionals are motivated to excel and advance in their careers. In addition to managing the sales team, the Director will effectively assess the competitive landscape and the effectiveness of company programs to determine optimum revenues. Building and nurturing relationships with both external and internal stakeholders will be crucial to elevating hotel and market share awareness. Collaboration with the Finance department will ensure that the sales plan aligns with budget expectations and profit goals. The Director will also be responsible for generating new business, maintaining client relationships, and developing customer relations through various sales strategies, including cold calling and lead development. This role requires a commitment to excellence and high standards, as well as the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the sales division.

  • Regularly interact with executives of major and prospective clients.
  • Analyze existing and anticipated client needs and promote company services accordingly.
  • Manage the preparation and implementation of sales and business development plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field.
