About the position

The Director of Sales at AEG is responsible for planning and executing special events at the venue, including private events, family shows, press conferences, fundraisers, and ceremonies. This role involves managing the overall sales process, ensuring seamless communication with clients and vendors, and overseeing event logistics, budgeting, and staff management. The Director will also play a key role in developing new business opportunities for the venue and maintaining compliance with legal standards for contracts and payments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and serve as the primary contact for all special events, ensuring effective communication with clients.
  • Oversee event logistics, including creating checklists, schedules, and programming for all events.
  • Manage the contract and payment process, ensuring compliance with legal standards and prompt settlement of invoices.
  • Plan and organize rental meetings, communicating event requirements to various departments.
  • Execute sales responsibilities to attract new clients, including responding to inquiries and creating proposals.
  • Participate in industry events and networking opportunities to secure potential new clients.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and security parameters for all clients operating in the facility.
  • Anticipate and address production, logistical, and operational challenges.
  • Work with the Operations Manager to hire, train, and manage event staff and vendors.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree (4-year)
  • 2-4 years of related work experience in event management
  • Experience in hospitality and food service industries
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of legal and risk issues surrounding food service, contract fulfillment, and leases
  • Exceptional management and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills to interface with high-profile individuals
  • Highly organized and flexible
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure
  • Budgeting and inventory experience
  • Ability to handle cash and checks, figure sums, and provide expense reports
