About the position

Prestige Consumer Healthcare is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Director to oversee the management of specific categories within the Walmart Business. This role is pivotal in driving the sales strategy and execution for categories such as Eye/Ear, First Aid, Footcare, Haircare, and Baby. The Sales Director will be responsible for leading a team to develop and implement business plans that align with the company's volume and profit objectives. The ideal candidate will possess superior negotiation skills and a deep understanding of category management, enabling them to effectively communicate and penetrate all levels of the account. In this position, the Sales Director will leverage their expertise in data analysis tools such as Tabs and IRI to support a fact-based approach to selling and decision-making. They will lead Category Management resources to identify opportunities and create compelling selling components that engage customers. Additionally, the Sales Director will work closely with the Trade Marketing Manager to implement business tactics that support both Prestige's overall strategy and individual brand strategies. The role also involves developing and maintaining accurate forecasts for production planning, managing the annual trade spending budget, and achieving rapid retail distribution of priority items. The Sales Director will execute promotion planning and sales activities aimed at fostering mutually profitable business growth while maintaining effective internal and external communication. This position requires a leader who can foster innovation and creativity, effectively manage time and multiple functions, and balance priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Management of Eye/Ear, First Aid, Footcare, Haircare, and Baby Categories at Walmart
  • Lead group to initiate thoughts and ideas, implementing business plans and strategies to achieve volume and profit objectives
  • Effectively communicate and penetrate all levels of account
  • Utilize superior knowledge in Tabs, IRI and various category information to support a fact-based approach to selling/decision making
  • Negotiate total programs and negotiate more for less or more than our fair share
  • Lead Category Management resources to identify opportunities and create selling components to accomplish engagements with the customer
  • Lead designated Trade Marketing Manager to identify and implement appropriate business tactics that support overall Prestige and individual brand strategies
  • Develop and maintain forecast by gross dollars, ANS% and units for production planning and overall business understanding
  • Develop and maintain annual trade spending budget
  • Achieve rapid retail distribution of designated priority items in assigned accounts
  • Execute promotion planning and sales activities directed toward mutually profitable business growth
  • Initiate and maintain internal and external communication to foster excitement yet convey challenges in a professional manner
  • Coordinate and encourage cross functional contacts and activities between Prestige and account which support overall business development/partnering efforts
  • Foster innovation and creativity and effectively exercise conceptual program development

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 or more years' experience in Sales
  • Strong technical skills involving inventory reconciliation, cost analysis and month-end close
  • Solid decision-making skills and the ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Capability to prioritize and plan work activities efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team environment with varied departments and diverse personalities
  • Detail-oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Outlook, and Intermediate to Advanced in MS Excel

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of industry issues including Category Management, Marketing skills, Market Trends, Financial positioning and growth strategies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with senior management of both Prestige Consumer Healthcare and the customer

Benefits

  • Salary range: $155K to $165K
  • Hybrid work schedule: 3 days/week in Northwest Arkansas Office
