About the position

The Director of Sales & Marketing at District3 Hotel Chattanooga is responsible for leading the revenue strategy for the hotel, focusing on group, volume transient, and catering sales. This role involves analyzing market trends, managing the sales and marketing budget, and developing a marketing communications plan to achieve the hotel's positioning and revenue goals. The position requires a proactive approach to sales, relationship building, and community engagement, especially as the hotel prepares for its conversion to a Spark by Hilton in April 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive top line revenue strategy for group, volume transient, and catering segments.
  • Develop and implement a marketing communications plan to achieve desired hotel positioning.
  • Manage the sales and marketing budget to support revenue attainment.
  • Achieve and exceed revenue targets for the hotel.
  • Research and update local market intelligence continuously.
  • Solicit, negotiate, and book new and repeat business through proactive sales efforts.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with brand Global Sales Managers and Key Account Managers.
  • Market the hotel's amenities and services through various channels, including social media.
  • Attend relevant tradeshows and events to promote the hotel.
  • Motivate, coach, and train team members, setting goals and providing feedback.

Requirements

  • Minimum three (3) years of Sales Management Experience, preferably in Hospitality.
  • Ability to sign non-disclosure and non-compete agreements.
  • Willingness to work weekends and holidays based on business needs.
  • Complete understanding of market and hotel demand generators.
  • In-depth knowledge of tools and methods for analyzing data.
  • Ability to identify relevant data and draw inferences with revenue impact.

  • Experience with yield management and revenue maximization tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
