About the position

As the Director of Sales at Freepoint Hotel, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans that encompass direct sales, marketing, e-commerce channels, public relations, and community partnerships. This role is pivotal in driving the hotel's revenue and enhancing customer satisfaction through effective sales strategies and relationship management. You will lead a team of sales associates, ensuring they are trained, scheduled, and supported in their roles, aligning their performance with established brand standards and the core values of HHM. Your focus will include utilizing both internal and external resources to create strategic plans that address all business segments. You will need to understand the sales and business processes thoroughly, supporting both corporate and hotel goals while enhancing customer value. Identifying customer business requirements and crafting tailored offers will be essential in increasing the hotel's revenue share. You will monitor the sales team's performance against the annual marketing plan and take corrective actions as necessary to meet objectives. Achieving the annual hotel revenue goals, as outlined in the budget, is a key responsibility. You will maintain relationships with key accounts to boost customer satisfaction and revenue. Employing professional sales techniques, you will negotiate favorable terms that meet customer needs while articulating the benefits of the hotel to close sales opportunities effectively. Additionally, you will prepare and maintain a current annual marketing plan with specific initiatives aimed at growing each business segment. Leadership is a critical aspect of this role; you will model effective selling techniques and foster the development of your team. You will also be responsible for creating impactful presentations that clearly communicate ideas and recommendations. The position requires local travel to conduct outside calls, promote the hotel, and assess competition, all while adhering to sustainability practices outlined in HHM's EarthView program. Other duties may be assigned by management as needed.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree required; advanced degree coursework in business administration, marketing, or communications is a plus.
  • Previous sales experience in a comparable hotel size and scope is required; operations experience preferred.
  • Public relations and community marketing experience is required.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Delphi, and access database tools.
