About the position

The Director of Sales at Etalon is responsible for driving the sales strategy and development of a revolutionary veterinary genetic profiling service, focusing on both equine and canine markets. This role involves market research, product roadmap development, and collaboration with the CEO to set long-term sales goals. The Director will also manage the sales team, create commission structures, and enhance community engagement through social media strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Drive product roadmap and lead market research for equine and canine markets.
  • Identify unmet genetic-centric needs and define product requirements.
  • Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities and interact with key stakeholders.
  • Design tailored sales strategies for the equine and canine markets.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to set long-term sales goals and forecast revenue targets.
  • Outline a roadmap for sales development strategy and collaborate with other teams.
  • Create a scalable and competitive commission structure for the sales team.
  • Collaborate with the Community Development Manager on targeted social media campaigns.
  • Evaluate and strengthen the veterinary network for growth opportunities.
  • Analyze consumer usage of services to enhance engagement and loyalty.
  • Manage and support the growing sales team, defining roles for future hires.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in sales or business development in animal health, veterinary, or genetic testing industries.
  • Experience in equine and/or canine markets and familiarity with genetics.
  • Proven track record of collaborating with executives and managing cross-functional teams.
  • In-depth understanding of market trends and product development cycles.
  • Experience integrating social media with sales programs in veterinary or animal health fields.
