The Director of Sales is a pivotal role within the hotel, responsible for soliciting group business to maximize profits through innovative selling techniques and strategic selection processes. The Director will work closely with the Sales Department to respond promptly to leads generated through various online platforms, cold calling, and in-person visits to businesses in the downtown metropolitan area. The role also involves managing workflow through the Sales Pro system, ensuring that all data is accurately filed and compliant with company and brand standards. In addition to direct sales activities, the Director of Sales will participate in promotional events, trade shows, and community engagements as assigned. A high level of attention to detail and efficiency is essential, as the Director will need to organize, prioritize, and follow up on leads with a sense of urgency. The position also requires the development of sales strategies that align with the overall property goals for both rate and occupancy. Understanding the hotel's operations, including room types, meeting capacities, and available services, is crucial for effectively communicating the hotel's offerings to potential clients. The Director will regularly review monthly STAR reports and create action plans to address any areas of concern. Collaboration with the Revenue Management team and the General Manager is necessary to ensure that pricing strategies are appropriate and to adjust selling tactics as needed.
