About the position

The Sales Manager at the Palace Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel in San Francisco, is responsible for leading and managing all day-to-day activities related to the sales function. This role focuses on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable the achievement of property sales objectives. The Sales Manager will work closely with the sales leader to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the sales strategy and its effective implementation within the segment. This includes collaborating with the management team to create and implement a sales plan that addresses revenue, customer engagement, and market positioning. The Sales Manager will also assist in developing and implementing promotions, both internal and external, to drive sales and enhance customer engagement. In addition to strategic planning, the Sales Manager will provide positive and aggressive leadership to maximize revenue potential. This includes setting personal booking goals and recommending booking goals for the sales team members. The role involves monitoring the daily activities of direct reports, approving space releases for catering to maximize revenue, and participating in sales calls to acquire new business or close existing deals. The Sales Manager will also execute and support the operational aspects of business booked, which includes generating proposals, writing contracts, and maintaining customer correspondence. Analyzing and reporting on sales and financial data is another critical aspect of this position. The Sales Manager will analyze market information using sales systems to implement strategies that achieve the property's financial goals. This includes assisting Revenue Management with accurate projections and reviewing sales and catering guest satisfaction results to identify areas for improvement. Ensuring exceptional customer service is paramount, and the Sales Manager will lead by example, interacting with guests to obtain feedback and empower employees to provide excellent service. The role also involves developing and managing relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, and working collaboratively with off-property sales channels to ensure that the property’s needs are met. Finally, the Sales Manager will be involved in human resource activities, including interviewing and hiring management and hourly employees with the appropriate skills to meet the business needs of the operation. This position offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $115,000 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health care benefits, flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) plan, accrued paid time off, life insurance, disability coverage, and wellness benefits. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 3 years experience in sales and marketing or related area.
  • OR 4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 1 year experience in sales and marketing or related area.
