About the position

The Director of Sales at NMC Cat is responsible for overseeing the productivity and effectiveness of the CAT Machine Group sales organization. This role involves managing essential support functions that enhance sales force productivity, including sales process optimization, quota management, training, and recruitment. The Director will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align objectives and priorities within the sales organization, ensuring the successful implementation of sales strategies and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes within the sales organization.
  • Monitors and maintains high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in sales planning efforts.
  • Supports equitable assignment of sales force quotas and ensures optimal allocation across sales channels.
  • Implements the NMC Sales Process throughout the CAT Machine Group.
  • Assigns sales organization objectives in a timely manner.
  • Identifies opportunities for sales process improvement and assists the sales team in addressing bottlenecks.
  • Monitors the accuracy and distribution of sales reports and recommends revisions as needed.
  • Coordinates training delivery for sales personnel and management.
  • Manages the relationship between the dealership and OEM.
  • Assists with sales incentive compensation administration as needed.
  • Develops coaching and performance improvement plans for the sales organization.
  • Directs the implementation of company initiatives and builds strong internal relationships.
  • Hires, trains, and develops employees, conducting performance appraisals and administering disciplinary procedures.
  • Drives accountability to ensure performance metrics are achieved.
  • Reviews and approves organizational plans supporting the Business Units Master Plan.
  • Establishes objectives and procedures for assigned activities and reviews objectives with subordinates.
  • Monitors and appraises the performance of reporting units and coordinates activities with other company units.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales management or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes and methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and generate reports.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in training and developing sales personnel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the equipment or machinery industry.
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar products and services.
  • Advanced degree in business or related field.
