About the position

The Sales Manager oversees the sales of the products and services offered by the hotel, banquet, and restaurant. This role is crucial in supervising the sales department employees and ensuring that the sales strategies align with the overall goals of the hotel. The Sales Manager participates in the preparation of the annual hotel budget and is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing plans and action plans. This includes creating special promotions or packages aimed at increasing occupancy and revenue. In addition to budget preparation, the Sales Manager tracks the activities of competitors and the market, analyzing the hotel's position within the market. This information is communicated to the General Manager and Director of Operations to inform strategic decisions. The Sales Manager also actively participates in industry and civic organizations to promote business opportunities, thereby enhancing the hotel's visibility and reputation in the community. Leading the hotel sales department meetings is another key responsibility, where the Sales Manager discusses strategies, performance, and upcoming initiatives with the team. The role involves making solicitation and service calls to assigned accounts, promoting and selling the hotel, banquet, and restaurant facilities. The Sales Manager is also responsible for responding to inquiries from customers and prospective clients, preparing proposals and confirmations for group bookings, and conducting property tours for potential customers. To ensure smooth operations, the Sales Manager informs other departments of upcoming events and collaborates with them for proper planning. Maintaining an accounts tracing system and customer account files is essential for generating future business. The Sales Manager must adhere to company credit and deposit policies when booking business and is responsible for preparing sales reports and recording sales activities as required. Monitoring guest satisfaction through follow-up surveys and thank you communications is also part of the role, along with meeting or exceeding individual revenue and production goals set by the General Manager. Compliance with Human Resource policies and timely processing of invoices are additional responsibilities that ensure the smooth functioning of the sales department.
