About the position

The Director of Sales is responsible for leading the daily sales efforts and overall positioning of the hotel, focusing on brand communication and customer development across various property offerings, including rooms, dining, and event spaces. This role involves managing rental revenue, yield strategies, and ensuring market performance aligns with budget and forecast targets. The Director will implement strategies related to pricing, direct sales, marketing, and public relations, requiring strong leadership, communication, and business acumen.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares Sales Reports and Annual Sales & Marketing Plan
  • Creates effective Sales Programs to enhance hotel awareness and perception
  • Accesses, understands, and inputs information using a moderately complex computer system
  • Assists General Manager in preparing marketing, advertising, and sales plans, managing within approved budgets
  • Develops rates and group sales strategies through competitive data review and demand analysis
  • Communicates effectively and diplomatically with internal and external customers
  • Stands and moves throughout the hotel property to perform essential job functions
  • Develops hotel and brand awareness in the local community
  • Directs and manages all group, transient, and banquet sales activities to maximize revenue
  • Prepares and compiles data for strategic sales plans, monthly reports, and annual goals

Requirements

  • Previous Director of Sales experience preferred
  • Previous Hotel Sales experience required
  • Previous lifestyle hotel experience a plus
  • Knowledge of travel industry, current market trends, and economic factors
  • Extensive skill in development and delivery of sales presentations
  • Proven track record in prospecting for new business and closing deals
  • Ability to make quick decisions in a hectic work environment
  • Strong prioritization, organization, and management skills
  • Well-developed leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build and maintain business relationships
  • Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English
