About the position

The Director of Site Selection will play a pivotal role in identifying, evaluating, and acquiring strategic land parcels for our build-for-rent multifamily development projects. This position requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in multifamily commercial real estate, market analysis, negotiation, and relationship management. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and securing land opportunities that align with the company's growth objectives and vision. The work location for this position is remote, allowing for flexibility while engaging in critical site selection activities. In this role, the Director will conduct thorough market research to identify potential land opportunities and market trends. This includes analyzing demographic, economic, and zoning data to assess the feasibility and potential risks associated with land acquisitions. The Director will proactively identify and evaluate potential land parcels that align with the company's strategic goals and development criteria. Collaboration with internal teams, including architects, engineers, and legal professionals, will be essential to assess site suitability and ensure that all regulatory and legal requirements are met during the acquisition process. The Director will also coordinate with development and finance teams on due diligence processes, including environmental assessments, zoning investigations, and title reviews. Negotiation and deal structuring will be a significant part of the role, requiring the Director to negotiate with landowners, developers, and brokers to secure favorable terms and pricing for land acquisitions. Additionally, the Director will cultivate and maintain strong relationships with landowners, brokers, and other key stakeholders in the real estate community, representing the company in a professional manner during negotiations and industry events. Financial analysis is another critical component of this position. The Director will develop detailed financial models to evaluate the feasibility and profitability of potential land acquisitions, providing input on pricing strategy and financial terms during the acquisition process. This role demands exceptional negotiation and deal structuring skills, along with a strong understanding of market trends, zoning regulations, and land use policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance, or related field.
