The Psychiatric Institute of Washington is seeking a talented and dynamic Director of Social Work to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals! The Psychiatric Institute of Washington is a 130-bed facility with inpatient, outpatient and partial hospitalization programs. Excellence in behavioral health programs for children, adolescents and adults has been the mission of The Psychiatric Institute of Washington since it opened nearly 50 years ago. As the first and only free standing psychiatric care facilities in Washington, DC, our team has a reputation for providing innovative treatment and care. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for hospital-wide functions related to the development and maintenance of professional standards and policies for the entire Social Work department for services given to all patients (adolescent-adults).
  • Ensures that clinical supervision is provided to all department staff.
  • Internally, interface with hospital management, staff, and patients.
  • Externally, interface with family members, the general public, licensing and accrediting agencies, schools of social work and healthcare treatment agencies.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work.
  • District of Columbia License LICSW (current) and must maintain as a condition of continued employment.
  • Two to five years of experience in a mental health setting.
  • Experience assessing and evaluating socio-psychological data to compile and complete assessments, treatment planning, and discharge planning.
  • Experience using individual, family, group, and crisis intervention techniques for children, adolescents, adults, and family members.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous psychiatric inpatient experience preferred.
  • Previous clinical supervision experience preferred.
