About the position

The Director of Software Development for Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) is responsible for leading a global development team that delivers integrated software solutions optimized for high availability and performance. This role involves managing the software lifecycle for Oracle databases and applications, ensuring timely releases, and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance product offerings. The director will leverage their expertise in systems software architecture to drive innovation and improvements in software and hardware integration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategy, leadership, and technical direction for a geographically distributed team of engineers.
  • Manage and deliver timely, high-quality hardware and software releases.
  • Develop a prioritized roadmap of products, features, and enhancements.
  • Drive the delivery of roadmap commitments including large cross-functional projects on time with high quality.
  • Work closely with a variety of stakeholders to ensure cross-organizational dependencies are managed effectively.
  • Provide regular updates and feature presentation/demos to upper management.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of systems software architecture.
  • Experience in managing software development tasks related to software applications, operating systems, and databases.
  • Proven ability to lead teams in solving complex problems related to distributed systems.
  • Strong technical expertise in software innovations within Oracle Database and Linux Operating System.
