About the position

The Director of Software Engineering will lead the web development team at a global financial services company, focusing on building and enhancing the main website used by millions of customers worldwide. This role involves driving technological advancements, collaborating with various stakeholders, and overseeing multiple development teams that create customer-facing applications using React and Java. The position is hybrid, requiring presence in Phoenix, AZ, three days a week.

Responsibilities

• Drive technological advancements through collaboration with stakeholders and development teams.
• Develop technical roadmaps for software projects.
• Oversee 2-3 development teams focused on customer-facing applications.
• Ensure adherence to software methodologies, processes, and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in managing engineering teams.
• Deep understanding of software methodologies, processes, and best practices.
• Experience in React, JavaScript, and Java.
• Enterprise-scale experience in software development.
• Experience in B2C or customer-facing web application development.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience in the fintech industry.
• Familiarity with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.
