About the position

As a Senior Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset Management line of business, you will lead a technical area and drive significant impact across teams, technologies, and projects. This role requires an in-depth understanding of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to effectively manage multiple complex projects and initiatives. You will serve as a primary decision maker for your teams, driving innovation and solution delivery. Your leadership will be crucial in designing and building the next generation of Asset Management's Client Reporting Data Platform, ensuring that it meets the evolving needs of the business. In this position, you will be responsible for leading technology and process implementations to build out a data platform that serves the needs of Asset Management's Client and Fund Reporting. You will drive the refinement of the data platform's architecture and contribute to defining the product roadmap and vision for Client Reporting. Your oversight will extend to decisions that influence team resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures. You will carry governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations. Additionally, you will deliver technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains, influencing peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams. Responsibilities

  • Leads technology and process implementations to build out a data platform that will serve the needs of Asset Management's Client and Fund Reporting
  • Drives refinement of the data platform's architecture and contributes to defining the product roadmap and vision for Client Reporting
  • Oversees decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures

  • Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience
  • 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
  • Strong experience in designing and implementing data architectures and platforms including ingestion, storage and distribution of data
  • Strong experience in data modelling and data lake concepts
  • Hands-on experience with data storage technologies such as Redshift, Snowflake, relational databases, or equivalent
  • Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists
  • Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
  • Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager
  • Practical cloud native experience
  • Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on experience with Business Intelligence or reporting products such as Qlik, Tableau, Jasper, Crystal, etc
