About the position

The Director of Software Engineering at Pattern is responsible for leading the software engineering function to develop, release, and maintain high-quality software applications and systems for a new SaaS product. This role involves establishing policies and procedures to ensure excellence in software delivery while collaborating cross-functionally to support business objectives. The position is based in Lehi, UT, and operates on a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities

• Lead software engineers to deliver innovative, high-quality SaaS products.
• Work cross-functionally with other roles and business teams to define, deliver, and support software and services.
• Guide software engineers through planning, designing, coding, delivery, and support.
• Own and continually improve the throughput and stability of product delivery and application lifecycle.
• Manage metrics for product delivery and developer performance.
• Communicate and collaborate with clients, partners, and vendors on technical details.
• Recruit, grow, and retain engineering top talent.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or applicable engineering or science field.
• 15+ years overall IT industry experience in the software development domain, with a strong emphasis on SaaS solutions.
• 10+ years of development experience.
• 10+ years of successful software project management experience or related experience.
• Expert understanding of Scrum methodologies and Agile practices.
• 5+ years of experience in policy definition and leadership team advisement.
• 5+ years in a management role reporting to executive level.
