About the position

The Director of Software Engineering - SAP Delivery Lead at JPMorgan Chase is a pivotal role focused on enhancing and delivering advanced Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP) in Data Processing technology. This position involves leading technical initiatives, driving innovation, and managing complex projects within the Finance Risk Data and Controls - Finance Technology team. The role emphasizes collaboration with industry leaders and the integration of cutting-edge technologies such as AI/ML and automation to improve product excellence and operational stability.

Responsibilities

• Lead technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives.
• Work with the SAP basis team to enhance processing capabilities of S4 Hana systems.
• Make decisions influencing teams' resources, budget, and tactical operations.
• Deliver technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains.
• Champion the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
• Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to drive architectural design outcomes.
• Assist the SAP Application owner in creating compliant solutions and closing product security gaps.

Requirements

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 10 years of applied experience.
• 5 years of experience leading technologists in managing complex technical items.
• Proficiency in SAP programming languages including OO ABAP and S4 Hana developer tools.
• Experience with automation and continuous delivery methods, particularly CI/CD.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams within software applications and technical processes.
• Experience in hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
• Deep experience with S4 Hana General Ledger solutions and ABAP extension solutions.
• Practical cloud-native experience in the S4 Hana environment.

• Experience working at code level.
• Knowledge in integration tools & SAP Security.
• Experience in data modeling using HANA Studio and ABAP Development Tools.
• Experience in developing custom SAP UI5 applications using SAP Cloud Platform.
