About the position

The Director of Software Delivery at Experian is a pivotal role responsible for leading the Software Delivery function within the Direct to Consumer (D2C) Engineering organization. This position focuses on enhancing the quality, efficiency, and risk management of software delivery processes. The Director will oversee the Quality Center of Excellence, Technical Program Management, and Tech Risk, ensuring the implementation of best practices and governance of quality standards across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Quality Center of Excellence to drive quality transformation programs.
  • Define and implement the Quality Strategy for the organization.
  • Develop and implement quality platforms, tooling, and best practices.
  • Ensure the adoption and governance of quality standards across the organization.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in software quality.
  • Oversee the Technical Program Management function to ensure the delivery of software projects.
  • Coordinate teams to agree on project goals and deliverables.
  • Implement program management methodologies and tools.
  • Report on project progress, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership.
  • Establish and manage the Tech Risk responsibility to identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks.
  • Develop risk management frameworks and processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure risk mitigation strategies are integrated into the development lifecycle.
  • Monitor and report on risk metrics and trends to inform decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, quality assurance, program management, and risk management.
  • Experience leading large-scale quality transformation programs.
  • Experience leading both small and large teams.
  • Experience working in a matrix operating model.
  • Expertise in quality management frameworks and tools.
  • Proficiency in program management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
  • Risk management and mitigation skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications in Agile, Cloud and other modern technology practices and solutions preferred.
  • Experience with software development methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Ability to work across time zones and with offshore teams.
