About the position

The Director of Software Engineering at Taurex Drill Bits LLC is a pivotal role focused on advancing the company's technology-driven operations through leadership in software development, data analytics, and automation. This position involves defining the strategic vision for software and data, leading a team of engineers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive high-impact projects. The role also includes hands-on development responsibilities and the implementation of advanced analytics and machine learning technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Define and shape the strategic vision for software, data, and automation across Taurex.
  • Lead the ongoing company-wide cloud adoption for in-house and 3rd party software systems.
  • Mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive high-impact projects from concept to deployment.
  • Act as the technical architect for complex projects, ensuring scalable and secure system designs.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of business-critical web applications using Python, .NET, and AngularJS.
  • Manage and optimize DevOps infrastructure with Azure, GitHub Actions, and IIS.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools such as Bicep and Terraform.
  • Enable advanced analytics capabilities using tools like Airbyte, DBT, Snowflake, and Azure Machine Learning Studio.
  • Apply machine learning and AI technologies to enhance data-driven insights.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to enhance and automate inspection and manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Lead Software Engineer, manager, or director with a strong focus on relevant technologies.
  • Passion for automation, robotics, and innovation in software solutions.

  • Experience architecting complex software solutions.
  • Experience leading company-wide vision for software and data.
  • Experience leading cloud adoption for small to mid-sized companies.
  • Proficiency in .NET, Python, and AngularJS for software development.
  • Familiarity with OpenSeaDragon for interactive imaging solutions.
  • Experience with Entity Framework for database interactions.
  • Knowledge of MLFlow, ONNX, and TensorFlow for machine learning.
  • Experience with GitHub Actions for automation and CI/CD.

  • Experience with Airbyte, DBT, and Snowflake for data engineering and analytics.
  • Strong background in SQL Server for database management.
