About the position

The Director of Software Engineering is responsible for managing the analysis, programming, and testing activities for software application development and support. This role involves overseeing the development and implementation of software applications, ensuring they meet organizational standards and user requirements. The director will lead a highly technical team, coordinate cross-functional activities, and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards. Additionally, the position requires strategic planning, resource management, and fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and develops a highly technical team supporting application system development, production support, and testing.
  • Plans, coordinates, and leads software development activities for assigned areas in support of client requests and strategic initiatives.
  • Establishes priorities for work requests and provides technical direction to the team.
  • Takes responsibility for quality and timeliness of deliverables, adjusting resources as needed.
  • Participates in the development of divisional plans and communicates progress with teams.
  • Evaluates industry trends and contributes to application systems and testing development.
  • Manages resource planning to achieve performance indicators within budgets and service agreements.
  • Develops strong relationships with partners and clients, acting as a senior subject matter expert.
  • Ensures compliance with corporate and regulatory standards in application systems development processes.
  • Contributes to strategy, risk management, and quality management within the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited university.
  • Typically a minimum of 10 years of related professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5-6 years experience in a managerial position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in a related field from an accredited university.
  • Prior experience in the Global Payments, payment, or technology industry.
