About the position

The Director of Software Engineering at Blain's Farm & Fleet is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the development, deployment, and maintenance of software solutions and IT infrastructure. This role is crucial for maintaining operational stability while driving innovation and efficiency, aligning with the company's strategic initiatives for both current and future states.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and optimize the development, deployment, and maintenance of software solutions and IT infrastructure.
  • Define, develop, implement, and execute the software and DevOps strategy and framework aligned with the company's strategic initiatives.
  • Manage and optimize software solutions for all business applications, including ecommerce platforms.
  • Design and implement DevOps standards and processes to improve deployment processes and enhance system reliability.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure, application deployment, and continuous improvements.
  • Develop and manage the IT software and DevOps budgets for all initiatives, ensuring cost-effectiveness and fiscal diligence.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with IT infrastructure and enterprise architecture.
  • Maintain a disaster recovery and business continuity contingency plan, updating as necessary.
  • Remain in tune with industry trends, standards, and new technologies to propose innovative ideas and solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of managers and associates, providing feedback and guidance.

Requirements

  • 10 to 15+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management and enterprise architecture.
  • Experience with Ecommerce infrastructure and architecture.
  • Extensive experience with technology, cloud services, networking, and data storage solutions.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally within the organization.
  • Ability to communicate technical IT-related concepts to a non-technical audience.
