About the position

The Director of Software Engineering will lead the software development teams in a prominent software company, focusing on modernizing platforms, enhancing scalability, and driving engineering excellence. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of the company's software solutions by overseeing development practices and aligning technology with business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of scalable, high-performance systems using technologies like Java, Python, JavaScript (React, Node.js), and C++.
• Drive cloud migration initiatives, leveraging AWS services such as EC2, S3, and Lambda.
• Oversee CI/CD pipelines, ensuring fast and reliable delivery with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, and Docker.
• Design and implement modern microservices architectures, optimizing for scalability and resilience.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to maintain efficient Kubernetes-based container orchestration.
• Foster a culture of testing and quality assurance, utilizing tools like JUnit, Selenium, and Postman.
• Mentor engineering managers and senior developers, building strong, collaborative teams.
• Partner with product teams to prioritize and deliver high-impact features aligned with customer needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of software development experience, with 3+ years leading engineering teams.
• Proven success managing teams working on cloud-native applications and modern tech stacks.
• Expertise in software architecture, design patterns, and performance optimization.
• Strong track record of delivering projects on time while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA.
