About the position

The Director of Software Engineering is responsible for managing the analysis, programming, and testing activities for software application development and support. This role involves overseeing the development and implementation of software applications, ensuring they meet organizational standards and user requirements. The director will lead a highly technical team, coordinate cross-functional activities, and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards. Additionally, the position requires strategic planning, resource management, and fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage analysis, programming, and testing activities for software application development.
  • Lead and develop a highly technical team supporting application system development and testing.
  • Plan, coordinate, and lead software development activities in support of client requests and strategic initiatives.
  • Establish priorities for work requests and provide technical direction to the team.
  • Ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables, adjusting resources as necessary.
  • Participate in the development of divisional plans and communicate progress with teams.
  • Evaluate industry trends and contribute to application systems development.
  • Manage resource planning to achieve performance indicators within budgets and service agreements.
  • Develop strong relationships with partners and clients, acting as a senior subject matter expert.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards in application systems development.
  • Contribute to strategy, risk management, and quality management within the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited university.
  • Typically a minimum of 10 years of related professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in a managerial position.

  • Master's Degree in a related field from an accredited university.
  • Prior experience in the Global Payments, payment, or technology industry.
