About the position

The Director of Software Engineering at Global Payments is responsible for managing the analysis, programming, and testing activities for software application development and support. This role involves overseeing the development and implementation of software applications, ensuring they meet organizational standards and user requirements. The director will lead a highly technical team, coordinate cross-functional activities, and drive resolutions for complex problems while maintaining compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage analysis, programming, and testing activities for software application development.
• Lead and develop a highly technical team supporting application system development and production support.
• Plan, coordinate, and lead software development activities in support of client requests and strategic initiatives.
• Establish priorities for work requests and provide technical direction.
• Ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables, adjusting resources as needed.
• Drive resolutions of issues and roadblocks, providing leadership and expertise.
• Participate in the development of divisional plans and communicate progress with teams.
• Evaluate industry trends and contribute to application systems development and testing.
• Manage resource planning to achieve performance indicators within budgets and service agreements.
• Communicate status of work to executive leadership and develop strong internal and external relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 10 years of related professional experience, including 5-6 years in a managerial position.

• Prior experience in the Global Payments, payment, or technology industry.
