About the position

The Director of Sports Performance is responsible for providing education, consultation, guidance, expertise, and training in physical performance for scholar-athletes and intercollegiate teams at Florida Tech. This role involves establishing effective working relationships with various stakeholders and overseeing gameday operations for athletic events. The Director supports the university's mission by integrating science and technology to develop athletes into scholars and leaders, while ensuring compliance with NCAA and university policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide education, consultation, and training in physical performance for scholar-athletes and intercollegiate teams.
  • Create, supervise, schedule, and oversee workouts for assigned teams in cooperation with Head Coaches.
  • Maintain the athletic weight room and ensure compliance with university regulations regarding equipment.
  • Conduct sports performance testing and monitor scholar-athletes, maintaining key data metrics.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant AD of Sports Medicine on recovery components, including nutrition and injury reduction techniques.
  • Update the Director of Athletics on best practices and equipment needs for training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Strength & Conditioning, Sports Science, Coaching, Sports Medicine, or related field required.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • NSCA-CSCS or CSCCA certification required.
  • First Aid/CPR certification required.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in strength & conditioning, personal training, or athletic training.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with NCAA Division II athletics.
  • Knowledge of sports performance technology and data analysis.
