About the position

The Director of Strategic Sourcing and Value Analysis at VCU Health is responsible for overseeing the contracting activities related to supply chain management, including vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and performance monitoring. This role focuses on achieving cost savings and enhancing quality through collaboration with clinical and operational stakeholders. The Director leads the value analysis process to evaluate product selection based on clinical outcomes, quality, and cost, while ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a contract strategy to support clinical and non-clinical program development.
  • Act as the central point of contact for all system supply chain contractual functions.
  • Implement tactics to meet annual goals and monitor performance of savings initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Finance and IT management to develop and maintain policies promoting system integration.
  • Leverage analytics to inform sourcing and contracting strategies.
  • Communicate value analysis team priorities and decisions to the healthcare system.
  • Lead the Value Analysis Team in achieving annual savings targets and reporting progress.
  • Facilitate consensus among clinical stakeholders and resolve barriers.
  • Support a sustainable value analysis process that drives supply chain savings while improving quality and satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Value Analysis and Strategic Sourcing Teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Ten years of Supply Chain Experience including five years in healthcare strategic sourcing management.
  • Ability to work autonomously towards defined goals.
  • Experience in ERP optimization, data integrity, and vendor management.
  • Ability to develop metrics for measuring department operations effectiveness.

  • Master's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
