About the position

The Director of Strategic Sourcing for Raw Materials at Thrive Foods is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing both domestic and international sourcing of key raw materials, particularly focusing on IQF fruits and vegetables, proteins, dairy, spices, and minor ingredients. This position reports to the Vice President of Strategic Sourcing and plays a crucial role in developing and executing multi-year strategies to ensure supply continuity, quality, and food safety standards while optimizing costs. The successful candidate will engage with senior leadership, manage supplier relationships, and drive continuous improvement and innovation within the sourcing function.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee domestic and international sourcing of raw materials, focusing on IQF fruits and vegetables, proteins, dairy, spices, and minor ingredients.
  • Develop and execute multi-year strategies for key raw material inputs.
  • Communicate and collaborate with senior leadership regarding sourcing strategies and market trends.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality and supply continuity.
  • Provide pricing directions and buying strategies based on market trends and commodity pricing.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders in marketing, sales, operations, and food safety/quality to align sourcing strategies with business goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the sourcing function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in procurement, particularly in the food and beverage industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven negotiation skills and vendor management experience.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
