About the position

The Director of Strategic Sourcing at Sportech is responsible for leading the development and implementation of innovative sourcing strategies that enhance cost efficiency, ensure supply assurance, and foster partnerships in new product development. This role involves managing a team and overseeing a total spend exceeding $100M, focusing on supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and continuous improvement in supplier service levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example, direct, and manage a team of category and sourcing managers.
• Develop category sourcing plans that align with the company's growth and financial objectives.
• Identify potential suppliers, document requirements, conduct RFQs, and manage financial and sourcing analysis.
• Drive annual cost reduction activities by tracking product cost drivers and market trends.
• Deliver business results including efficiency improvements and continuity of supply.
• Continuously improve sourcing processes through new tools and best practices.
• Prepare monthly operating metrics for savings, project updates, and material variance reports.
• Negotiate complex agreements with global suppliers, considering quality, pricing, and lead-times.
• Lead Supplier Performance Management initiatives and conduct key supplier Quarterly Business Reviews.
• Provide leadership for new product launch support and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities and establish sources for new technologies and markets.
• Develop strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders and suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, economics, supply chain or engineering.
• 5-10 years of increasing responsibilities in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven leadership skills to influence and motivate teams.
• Dependable and highly motivated hands-on manager.
• Ability to manage and develop team members aligned with company values.
• Demonstrated track record of RFP development and sourcing processes.
• Excellent communication, negotiating, and project management skills.
• Strong business acumen and analytical capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and advanced Excel skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Epicor experience preferred.
• CPM, APICS or other supply chain management certifications preferred.
