Come join The Crucible as our Director of Studio Operations & Facilities for the opportunity to use your arts education and facilities management experience in service to a fantastic arts education nonprofit located in West Oakland! The Director of Studio Operations and Facilities oversees this crucial department and directly manages a full-time Safety Manager, Facilities Coordinator and a team of Studio Operations Technicians. They are responsible for helping to supervise interns, seasonal apprentices, contractors, and volunteers for site-related projects. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Studio Operations and Facilities is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of staff, faculty, students, and community when in and around the facility. The role requires a strong leader who can effectively manage a diverse team and ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards. The Director will be expected to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote a safe and efficient working environment. This includes working closely with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and obtain required permits for operation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for arts education and a commitment to social justice, as well as the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of individuals from various backgrounds. In addition to overseeing daily operations, the Director will also be responsible for strategic planning and resource allocation to support the growth and sustainability of the studio operations.
