ChristianaCare is searching for a Director of Supply Chain Operations to be responsible for developing, implementing, measuring, and leading Supply Chain processes associated with material management in the Distribution Center. This role involves overseeing the entire material management process, which includes receiving, storage, retrieving, and dispatching materials. The Director will liaise with other Supply Chain functions to understand customer needs and ensure timely dispatch of materials from the Distribution Center, ensuring adherence to agreed service levels. This position is also responsible for achieving key strategic objectives and translating the vision of the future of ChristianaCare Supply Chain into an actionable strategy at the Distribution Center level, focusing on Supply Chain excellence internally. The Director will lead a team consisting of a manager and supervisors, having overall responsibility for their assigned functions. Collaboration is key in this role, as the Director will work closely with the Business Support and Analytics Team to provide insights as a business user for enhanced user experience and improvement of the warehouse management system. This is a hybrid position, requiring presence in the office 2-3 days per week. In this role, the Director will develop and implement strategic plans to optimize Distribution Center operations and effectively support all ChristianaCare Health System hospitals, including Christiana, Union, Wilmington, and other satellite facilities. The Director will oversee the material management process, ensuring efficiency in the quick and accurate turnaround of customer orders. Additionally, the Director will implement inventory control measures to ensure accuracy, minimize stockouts, prevent overstock, and take timely action to reduce inventory waste and prevent financial losses. Compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and quality assurance protocols is essential to uphold patient safety and regulatory requirements. The Director will also collaborate with procurement, transportation, hospital operations, infection prevention, and vendors to streamline material movement, achieve cost reductions, and ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders. Leveraging distribution center management systems and other technological solutions to automate processes, track inventory, and improve overall efficiency will be a critical aspect of this role. Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess Distribution Center performance, monitoring progress, and generating actionable insights for continuous improvement will also be part of the responsibilities.
