About the position

Atwell, LLC is seeking a seasoned Director of Survey to lead and manage survey projects in Central Florida. This role involves strategic planning, client collaboration, financial stewardship, and team mentorship, ensuring excellence in surveying practices while fostering strong client relationships and driving business development efforts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute an annual Project Manager Business Plan for survey efforts.
• Collaborate closely with clients and management to define project objectives and create proposals.
• Ensure strong contractual relationships with clients, negotiating agreements before project kick-off.
• Manage project invoicing and accounts receivable collection in alignment with contracts.
• Foster internal communication and encourage dialogue across teams and sectors.
• Cultivate strong client relationships, keeping them informed and addressing concerns promptly.
• Drive growth through marketing support, presentations, and nurturing client relationships.
• Maintain efficient project documentation and collaboration via web-based software.
• Coach, counsel, and mentor team members for their professional growth.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards by maintaining accurate project inputs.
• Stay updated with industry trends through workshops and professional societies.
• Achieve performance objectives related to chargeability, invoicing ratio, and revenue goals.
• Apply fundamental survey and engineering concepts independently as needed.
• Assist in organizing the project team and collaborating with sub-consultants.
• Analyze project information and trends to ensure objectives are met.
• Contribute to financial objectives by managing budgets, schedules, and expenditures.
• Report project outcomes to management and provide insights for improvement.
• Work with stakeholders to define timeframes, budgets, staffing, and project schedules.
• Contribute to a team-oriented environment to achieve collective results.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with strong listening abilities.
• Proven experience in survey project management and leadership roles.
• Ability to independently apply fundamental engineering, environmental, land planning, and survey concepts.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Strong business acumen and ability to contribute to business development efforts.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field (surveying, engineering, or similar) is required; advanced degree is a plus.
• Professional licensure/certification.
