About the position

The Director of Talent Acquisition is a pivotal role within the Office of Personnel Services and Benefits, responsible for leading a team of recruitment professionals and ensuring equitable hiring processes for the State Personnel Management System (SPMS), which encompasses over 40,000 employees. This position involves strategic oversight of recruitment trends, policy development, and compliance with hiring regulations, while also serving as a key advisor to Executive Branch agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of talent acquisition professionals.
• Analyze recruitment trends and develop effective recruitment strategies.
• Provide authoritative guidance on recruitment policies and compliance to SPMS agencies.
• Oversee the State's applicant tracking system (ATS) and ensure its effective use.
• Evaluate hiring needs and recommend solutions to address recruitment challenges.
• Collaborate with agency recruiting staff to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Guide the CHRO & Deputy on recruitment, selection, and workforce planning strategies.
• Conduct training and create reports and presentations related to recruitment efforts.

Requirements

• Seven years of professional work experience in recruitment and examinations, including at least two years in a supervisory role.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of professional HR experience involving recruitment and examinations, with two years in a supervisory capacity.
