About the position

The Director of Technical Project Management will report through Information Technology Services (ITS) and will be responsible for leading complex multi-disciplinary projects that deliver solutions achieving strategic business objectives. This role establishes and controls project management processes for managing scope, cost, schedule, and deliverables. The position will ensure that all assigned work gets properly prioritized, resourced, and completed on-time and within budget, while working collaboratively with ITS and university leadership to deliver technologies that align with strategic objectives and operating needs.

Responsibilities

  • Alignment, Oversight, and Management of Project Management Capability
  • Defining and documenting project plans
  • Managing project execution
  • Support Planning & Delivery Processes
  • Other tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in management, Business Administration, Operations, or related subject area, or acceptable combination of education/experience
  • 7-10 years of experience in project management
  • 1-3 years of management experience
  • Experience with supporting enterprise financial operations (e.g., financial planning and budgeting, accounting, procurement services, etc)
  • Experience with project management methodology and frameworks
  • Experience with managing cross-functional teams that support enterprise-wide capabilities
  • Experience with receiving and analyzing information, formulating work plans, preparing written material, and articulating goals and action plans
  • Experience with managing multiple project streams
  • Experience with influencing and inspiring people to work toward a common goal by exhibiting positive leadership character qualities
  • Effective listening and communication skills across executive, mid-level management, and business area teams

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP or equivalent certification
  • Experience as a Technical PM Team lead
  • Management experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and with Google Docs and Box applications
