About the position

The Director of Test Cell Marketing for SOC Semiconductor Test at Teradyne is a pivotal role that focuses on ensuring that the company's Automated Test Equipment (ATE) solutions meet the evolving and complex needs of customers in the semiconductor industry. This position is critical as the complexity of test cells is increasing due to the demands for high power computing devices, advanced wireless applications, and the integration of new technologies such as optical interfaces. The Director will be responsible for collaborating with various teams including sales, marketing, engineering, applications engineering, and operations, as well as industry partners that provide essential components like probers, handlers, and software. The role requires a deep understanding of multiple markets such as mobile, computing, and automotive, and involves working closely with customers ranging from small firms to large international semiconductor companies. The ideal candidate will have over ten years of experience in the semiconductor ATE industry, showcasing strong business acumen and a technical understanding of ATE test cell technologies, including thermal management, signal fidelity, and production reliability. The Director will lead strategic initiatives and manage plans to align Teradyne's solutions with customer timelines, whether through organic product development or partnerships with other companies. Key responsibilities include identifying synergistic partnerships, driving mutual project plans, ensuring market share growth through strategic design-in activities, and creating effective sales collateral to communicate Teradyne's test cell strategy. The Director will also execute operational product management needs to ensure that solutions can be quoted, ordered, manufactured, and delivered efficiently. This high-impact role demands strong leadership, analytical skills, and the ability to integrate technology into successful business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Understand test trends in SOC markets and establish strategies to ensure alignment of Teradyne solutions to customer timelines.
  • Identify synergistic partnerships with other companies, drive those to mutual project plans, and track business results.
  • Ensure market share growth by supporting strategic design-in activities, including competitive differentiation and resource trade-offs in test cell development.
  • Create effective collateral for sales to communicate Teradyne's test cell strategy and differentiation.
  • Execute operational product management needs to ensure solutions can be quoted, ordered, manufactured, and delivered.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of marketing and/or sales experience in semiconductor ATE industry.
  • 5+ years of design or applications engineering/management experience in complex production manufacturing equipment.
  • Proven and respected track record in the semiconductor industry.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, synthesis, and integration skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA preferred or equivalent managerial experience.
