About the position
The Director of the Office for the Aging is a key professional and administrative role responsible for overseeing services and activities aimed at improving the status and condition of the elderly. This position involves planning, coordinating various services and programs, and providing direct assistance when necessary. The Director works under the general administrative direction of the county legislative body, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws, while exercising supervision over clerical and professional staff.
Responsibilities
- Direct services and activities offered by the Office for the Aging.
- Plan and coordinate various services and programs for the elderly.
- Provide necessary direct assistance to the elderly when required.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
- Supervise clerical and professional subordinate employees.
Requirements
- Master's degree in social or behavioral sciences, public health, public administration, recreation education, or related fields with two years of full-time administrative experience in community organization or the field of aging.
- Bachelor's degree in social or behavioral sciences, public health, public administration, recreation education, or related fields with three years of full-time experience in community organization or the field of aging, including at least one year in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
- Equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of the above qualifications.
