About the position

The Director of Operations and Business Development for Anesthesia is responsible for coordinating physician manpower strategies within assigned markets, serving as the primary liaison for physician employment transactions. This role requires strong leadership, financial management, and interpersonal skills to enhance patient care and build relationships with local physicians. The Director will oversee clinical operations, manage staffing schedules, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations while driving organizational success and collaboration within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with local market, regional, and TPR leadership to develop physician manpower strategies.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for initiating, managing, and finalizing physician employment transactions.
  • Demonstrate exceptional financial management and analytical skills in the physician manpower planning process.
  • Identify and vet new physician opportunities based on community needs and hospital leadership interactions.
  • Establish physician employment plans that maximize service-line growth potential and patient access.
  • Monitor trends in physician patient origin, care access, and attrition to identify growth opportunities.
  • Interview and assess candidates for education, training, experience, and attitude.
  • Manage the employment negotiation process, including compensation and benefits discussions.
  • Develop comprehensive compensation programs tailored to selected candidates.
  • Maintain high visibility among the physician community to build TPR's reputation and enhance patient experience.
  • Coordinate with TPR market in developing and implementing physician employment strategies.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years' experience practicing within a hospital, with three years in management preferred.
  • Knowledge of healthcare organization, administration, and applicable standards and laws.
  • Proven financial management skills with a focus on P & L.
  • Strong project management skills with measurable results.
  • Ability to build targeted sales and marketing lists and analyze market research.

  • Knowledge of billing and coding requirements.
  • Experience in healthcare strategic and financial planning.
