About the position

The Director of Operations III at HMSHost is responsible for overseeing the operations of multiple restaurants in a high-volume airport setting. This role involves directing, planning, and managing the activities of restaurant managers and support staff to ensure operational excellence and financial performance. The Director will build relationships with various stakeholders and utilize leadership skills to drive performance and employee engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all restaurants are prepared for opening and closing according to established checklists.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with landlords, brands, and partners.
  • Conduct interviews and make hiring decisions for key positions within the zone.
  • Schedule managers to ensure leadership presence during all operational hours.
  • Ensure compliance with onboarding and offboarding processes for restaurant associates.
  • Promote employee engagement and recognition initiatives within the restaurants.
  • Provide coaching and support to restaurant leadership to achieve business goals.
  • Monitor financial and operational data to track progress towards goals.
  • Collaborate with regional leadership on financial decisions and operational controls.
  • Ensure product availability and proper inventory management in restaurants.
  • Conduct training and development activities for restaurant managers and staff.
  • Implement marketing programs and promotional activities to drive revenue.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of multi-unit restaurant management experience.
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of P&L management.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in team management and development.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in high-volume airport operations.
  • Knowledge of various restaurant service styles and concepts.
  • Familiarity with technology used in restaurant management.
