About the position

The Director of Operations and Logistics at Nissin Foods is responsible for managing the logistics operations network, which includes inbound material replenishment, order fulfillment, outbound distribution, warehousing, and co-packing for the US market. This role oversees all transportation and warehousing activities, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency within established policies and procedures. The director also leads the customer service team to maintain high service performance and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, monitor, and operate within logistics operations budgets and forecasts in line with business objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance safety, service performance, and cost efficiency of the logistics network.
  • Strategically assess and analyze logistics network requirements and maintain a 3-year masterplan to support service and cost management.
  • Identify, negotiate, and contract appropriate 3PL, co-packing, and transportation services through RFP processes.
  • Lead order fulfillment processes and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and achievement of service KPIs.
  • Provide inventory management and recall process leadership, ensuring training readiness and data accuracy.
  • Drive improvement of operational KPI performance within warehouses and support customer service performance metrics.
  • Maintain professional business relations with vendors, suppliers, co-packers, and carriers to ensure supply chain continuity.
  • Implement departmental policies and procedures for inventory flow, traceability data, and order fulfillment workflows.
  • Manage the Transportation Management System for effective function and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, food safety, and security standards in warehouse and transportation processes.
  • Make recommendations for warehouse equipment purchases and capital improvements.
  • Manage and develop warehouse operations teams effectively and safely.
  • Conduct regular meetings to inform personnel of policy changes, KPI performance, and improvements.
  • Identify, develop, and implement training programs as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from an accredited college or university in a related field.
  • 7+ years relevant experience in the manufacturing industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with warehouse, ERP, inventory control, order management, and MRP systems.
  • Cost accounting experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals and technical procedures.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
  • Administrative knowledge of Transportation Management Systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
